Premimum Web Hosting
I'm ready to sign up!
How do I get started?
Getting signed up is very quick and easy. Just
follow these simple steps. We're here to help along with way. Just
contact us if you need assistance. We
thank you choosing Ground Zero Hosting as the provider of your web
services.
1) Get your domain name. Do you
already have your domain name ? If you do, you'll skip this step
and go on to step 2. Otherwise, you'll need to register the domain
name that you want for your web site. There are many different registrars
available. We recommend our domain registration services, with rates
starting at just $12 per year for most domain names. Click
for more information.
2) Sign up for a hosting account.
The next step is ordering
hosting service. Here, you'll select the hosting package that
suits your needs and provide us with your name, address, and billing
information. Within just a few hours (or less) after signing up
you'll receive your account information. This e-mail will include
your web site's IP address and login information.
3) Set up your account. You'll
use the account information that we sendl you to set up your account
until your domain name resolves. Use your favorite FTP client to
upload your files to your new web site using your IP address and
login information. If you're transferring your site from another
host you may also use 'ssh' to login to your new web site using
the IP and FTP your files from here. Your HTML files will need to
be placed in the "public_html" (or "www") directory.
After your files have been uploaded you'll want to test your site
using your IP address (eg. http://123.123.123.123). You'll also
want to login to your site's control panel
and create your e-mail addresses for the domain.
4) Update the DNS
information for your domain. If you registered your domain
name through us or transferred it to our domain name registration
service (more info) this step is not
required. Otherwise, you'll need to add our domain name server (DNS)
information to your domain name. Our DNS information is:
ns1.groundzerohosting.com 216.74.88.29
ns2.groundzerohosting.com 216.74.88.8
What do you mean by

It's simple. If within 30 days you are not completely
satisfied with our web hosting services to you we will refund your
money. Nothing, however, changes after 30 days. Our goal of keeping
you 100% satisfied continues indefinitely. We believe that you'll
continue to be happy with our service to you. If, for any reason,
you are not please contact us and we'll
do everything we can to rectify the issue.
My internet service
provider (ISP) offers free web space as part of my package. Why
do I need your services?
To be honest, you may not. It really depends on
what you plan on doing with your web site. If you only have a very
casual interest in experimenting with making web sites and they
consist of only a page or two your ISP may be able to meet your
needs. ISP's typically offer only a few MB. For more serious web
sites you need the power that we can provide. Your ISP's focus is
in providing internet access for you and it very likely will not
be the best choice to meet your web hosting needs. Having your own
hosting service will also allow you to have your own domain name.
Our focus is on providing high quality server
hardware, fast network connections,
and best service in the industry, all
at very competitive prices. (We do not provide dial-up internet
capabilities as this is not part of our focus.)
What types of support do you offer for your
services?
We offer a detailed support
section and also free, unlimited e-mail
support. We also provide an online support
forum where responses to questions in the past may be just the
answer you are also needing.
What types of content
are allowed on a hosted site? What am I allowed to do with my hosting
account?
Before signing up for a hosting account you must
agree to our Terms of Service agreement.
As a very brief summary the following are absolutely not
permitted:
- any pornographic or adult oriented content
- any illegal activity of any kind including, but not limited to,
sharing and distribution of pirated, copyrighted software or work
(commonly refered to as warez)
- any spamming (sending unsolicited commercial e-mail)
Any violation of the Terms of Services agreement
will result in immediate suspension of the offending web site.
E-MAIL
Do you support the
IMAP protocol?
No, not at this time. Our servers use the POP3
protocol.
Can I send mail from
my hosting account (ie. do you have SMTP services)?
Yes. Your e-mail program must support SMTP authentication
and you must have it enabled.
Will I have a "catch-all"
e-mail account?
Yes. Your main login name will also serve as your
"catch-all" e-mail account. Any e-mail that is sent to
your domain name which does not contain an exisiting e-mail account
will be placed in this account. (eg. anything@yourdomain.com will
be sent to mainlogin@yourdomain.com.) However, you can set your
mail server to automatically delete or return any e-mail sent to
a non-existing account.
How do I set up e-mail
accounts in my e-mail client?
Setting up your e-mail accounts is easy. Instructions
for setting up Outlook Express is below. This same information should
be helpful in setting up your client.
